Aaron Thorpe Named Finalist for the Oliver Rose BIBA Young Broker of the Year Award

We are delighted to announce that our very own Aaron Thorpe has been named a finalist for the Oliver Rose BIBA Young Broker of the Year Award! This prestigious award, presented by the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA), recognises outstanding young professionals in the industry—those who demonstrate exceptional performance, contribution, and future potential.

From Graduate to Industry Leader

Aaron’s journey in insurance began straight out of university, where his economics degree led him to seek a career in financial services. He started as an account handler at A-Plan Insurance, and his talent and ambition soon caught the attention of senior leaders. He was offered the opportunity to help open a new branch in Essex as an assistant manager—an exciting role that reflected his early promise.

However, recognising greater opportunity for long-term growth in commercial insurance, Aaron made the bold decision to join Preston’s as its first employee. That move marked the beginning of an impressive journey. Over the past 11 years, he has progressed through several roles, from account handler to associate director under Clear, helping to shape the business while developing expertise in operations, strategic growth, and team and client management.
